Wut happened?  Huh

The company where our server is located upgraded some of our core software. I think they made a small boo-boo, but things all seem to be working now.

Sorry about the downtime, but it was something out of my control. Smiley

Tim, I will see your grog, and raise you a grog.....  Wink

Must have been the mild sense of panic that I felt.. I was examining the picture for a hidden clue as to what was going on.....

Katie seemed to me to be hard argound, and rather surrounded in the sand... sure am glad that was not to be the fate of the good Ship SailFar!!!

Since it's Saturday night and I'm feeling a little loose with the change, I am going to set you up with one Craig, for you are definitely a big help to this board  also.

Since Sailfar is back up and running, we probably can't justify keelhauling you. Smiley Wink Thanks for the update... I figured it was a maintenance issue of some sort... seen that on my blog when I forget to upgrade the database after upgrading WordPress. Smiley

Well, FWIW, we are now running both php5 and MySQL5 - that's what the server admins updated. Seems they forgot to configure some scripts and permissions during the upgrade, which was why we were locked out.

That's Katie anchored in the Tuamotus, fellas. I made up that image now (it's my system desktop) so that I won't be overwhelmed when I do see the same thing, in person... Grin

Hi all -

The data center where our server is has been having major issues the past day or so.

Nothing I can do about it except wait and see. The company is saying that the power went out, then there were problems with the battery backup UPS, etc etc, yada yada yada... (Boy am I glad I don't work there right now! Grin)

Looks like something we'll just have to deal with for a little while. Sorry 'bout that.

Our entire site is backed up as of last night, so we are good to go as far as what I can do about it. Smiley

I was wondering what was up yesterday - I thought 'uh oh' when the MySQL errors started showing. Glad to see you've got backups.

Out of interest, who are you hosted with?

Yet we've never even had to put screens in the hatches there.

Some of the other locals call that the Fort McRae anchorage.

I'll PM the host info, since I don't want to do any unnecessary advertising for them. Wink

Reading thru various forums regarding the outage, I saw a post from a guy who was whining because his site that he said generated $400+ per day was down. WTF? That guy needs a huge reality check. (On second thought - maybe he just got it! lol)

If I had a site producing that kind of cash flow - heck, if I had a site producing *any* cash flow at all Grin - I'd have that sucker mirrored on at least 2 different widely geographically separated fast RAID servers connected to *big* pipes!

Whatta numbnuts...  Roll Eyes IMO, he just got an expensive lesson, fairly cheap.  Wink
