(edit) NOTE: The links in this post no longer render incorrectly; CapnK fixed the problem.The tag to insert a hyperlink into post text, such as
[url=www.sailfar.net]Sail Far[/url]
Sail Faris not working properly. It is inserting an extra http// (notice the : is NOT there) for some links and http:// (with the : ) for other links.
Even entering the link directly without the url tags, such as
http://www.sailfar.netwhich was typed in the message body as
http://www.sailfar.net
or
www.sailfar.netwhich was typed using
www.sailfar.net
is doing similar behavior. Notice in this last example that although the link text looks right in the message body, the url it actually points to has the extra http// (no colon).
As a result, links in message bodies are BROKEN.
This has been observed for at least two posts:
http://sailfar.net/forum/index.php?topic=2715.msg28702#msg28702
and
http://sailfar.net/forum/index.php?topic=1268.msg28693#msg28693
First order of business is for others to verify both observed behavior on reading a message and behavior on creating a message using other browsers.
I see this on Firefox 3.0.10 and at least one other user has seen it (unknown browser).
