I am sooooooooooooo screwed on this question.... Grin
Half of me loves old wooden boats... Gartsides cutters, Falmouth Quay punts, the original Folkboats, etc....
The other half loves boats like the  Akilaria 950 or the MiniTransat boats.....

We were lucky to find our dream boat. it fits our needs and wants perfectly.  When I started looking at boats the Island Packets was my dream, but the $100k+ price tags on the 32' range was going to keep them a dream. I then found out that Robert Johnson of IP is the one that designed the Endeavour 32 and I found one that was in great shape for a 1/5 of the price of an Island Packet.  In the yr of living aboard we have stayed busy with little projects that you will find on new boats, other then the replacing of the ports which was as much cosmetic as practical.
I have since step foot on Island Packets that are 30 years newer and can only see where cost cutting has taken place. the setups (Designs) and trim work is identical.
