lol- The hulls will be painted. The decks are going to at least start out varnished.
Since we have such a quantity of oyster shell around here and since we will both be taking the boats back country, her to photograph wildlife for her paintings and me to chase redfish, it doesn't make sense to varnish the hulls.
And yes, every thing will have at least two coats of epoxy pre-paint. In fact, the hulls already HAVE three coats, well sanded.
The weight differences is due to the glass I used on the bottoms. Her boat has 6 oz on the hull, with 4 oz on the sides. Mine has 10 oz hull, 4 oz sides. I'm heavier so figured I'd tend to crunch bottom more often and harder than she will. Her 108 pounds isn't much considering

But I've been VERY careful with the weights, trying hard to not add a pound un-necessarily. Light boats are much more fun.
