Title: Cruising in the Colorado River Diversion Channel
Post by: Phantom Jim on January 06, 2017, 02:46:57 PM
Does anyone have any experience boating or cruising in the Colorado River Diversion Channel?  The delta formed into Matagorda Bay looks to be a gunkholers delight.  We are planning an April or May cruise there to give it a really good look-see.

I had never viewed the Colorado that far south, until your post. Looks interesting on Google Earth! Would you be able to lay your mast back if needed? Where were you thinking of putting in?

Hope you have shallow draft for the canal

The harbor master at Matagorda is an old friend. Named Craig Hlavinka  His number there   is 979 863 2103

Very nice restaurant there at marina

Is anyone planning a September or October cruise into The Texas Coastal Bend?  Barring life or boat complications, Phantom will be out for a couple of weeks sometime in that time frame.  It would be fun to share an anchorage and experiences with other boaters.

Our potential destination is the Colorado River Diversion Channel.  We did not get there in the Spring as we had hoped, maybe this Fall.
