I've been watching the news this morning and heard that relations between the U.S.A. and Cuba are improving to the point that we're going to reopen our respective embassies in the next month or so. Well... I've been thinking (usually a reason to cringe)  about doing the Scoot to Cuba. Just a thought but it is doable. What do you think?

Sweden has always been a great friend and defender of Cuba (I am sorry but I had no part in it) and I read a book about a yacht that visited Cuba only a couple of years ago and If I recall correctly they were disappointed because there was very limited ports of call and they were not allowed to see much of the country, probably to prevent them from taking aboard Cuban defectors, but I may remember it wrong.
I look for subtle places, beaches, riversides and the ocean's lazy tides.
I don't want to be in races, I'm just along for the ride.

That WOULD be a hoot.(or scoot  :)) great to see the "culture" before things change too much!  Great idea!!

Doable...in a truck. :)

Hmmm...about 25 feet LOA...5,000 pounds...1951...good storage...not too many luxuries or gizmos...Classic lines...

A bit more canvas and could be a SailFar-type boat...?  :D
