Title: jib candy caneing when rolled up
Post by: jotruk on April 15, 2013, 02:09:56 PM
When I roll my roller furing jib up it candy canes on the roller furler. I do have a sacrificial strip on the edges. I put the jib on new about a year ago and have not had any problems until lately. Does any one have any idea how to stop this?

I keep a slight bit of tension on the sheets while furling.  That helps sometimes....

Might your sheeting angles be wrong then?

If you pull your jib back along side (as close hauled) your sheets should pretty much point in the same direction as the clew...  If forward, or aft your jib will wrinkle, and ( in most cases) sail less efficently.
