Title: Small Bits storage solutions/systems
Post by: CapnK on November 14, 2016, 08:57:45 PM
So tonight I dug thru the 'spares locker'. Found some usable stuff, others that are going into a "Freebie" box up in the marina laundry room...

Looking at the screws and rivets and washers and whatnot, got me to thinking, thinking about how to keep 'em, and keep track of 'em.

When the pain from all that thinkin' subsided ;) I thought it might be a good i-dear to ask here and see if anyone has a great, novel way to stow and manage all those little tiny bits that we don't need right now, but might need down the road. Do you limit your quantities, use a fishing lure container or zip locks, keep a list of what is where, those sorts of things...

With the 'new' boat, I am trying to be very systematic about what I bring aboard, keeping it to only that which is *needed*, so that I don't get the "poop Plague" which makes it so hard to leave the dock easily. :)

I've had some plastic locking boxes, with bins. Screws, nuts, washers, etc, all separated

Have another with fuses, bulbs,, etc

My nuts and bolts box ''went south" but I can snap a pic of the other tomorrow
