Title: Tehani's cabin table
Post by: CharlieJ on August 04, 2008, 07:03:37 PM
As an adjunct to another post on TSBB I got asked about the dining table we have aboard Tehani and it was suggested I post the write up and pictures here also. So here it is.

I bid on a piece of solid teak furniture that was damaged in a fire, and got it cheaply. Took it apart and used the teak for all the teak that went into Tehani. One of the things we built was our dining table

It stows up under the foredeck over the vee berth

And here's a closer look from underneath. There is a lipped piece on the port side the table slides into, then a rabbeted strip on the starboard with two turn buttons that hold it up.

Here's two bottom shots showing the leg attachment and the turn button that holds the leg folded while the table is stowed. It needs the pair of hinges otherwise it tends to wobble. I know- I tried it with just one

Hope this gives someone some ideas on how to do something similar
