Title: after much soul searching, sadly, I have concluded that it's time for me to part
Post by: CharlieJ on March 26, 2022, 04:31:58 PM
Part with Tehani

She-s a 1961 Rhodes Meridian 25, hull #10. built in Holland

Has some relatively minor damage from a hurricane but nothing major. She's in a slip in Port Lavaca, Texas

I'm asking for exaclly what I gave for her- come get her

I do have a tandem axle trailer fitted to the boat, whch I plan to ask $300 for.

Get in touch if you are interested.

darn/wow/holy smokes... "soul searching", I'm sure there has been plenty of that, CJ...

Amazingly kind of you to be so generous; here's wishing Tehani a new owner who will show her at least half as much care and love as you have.

CJ - I'm going to contact the Gtown Maritime Museum about this. They have had a fleet of Optis now for several years, teaching young kids, and just got a few centerboard FRP boats a couple years ago. Maybe Tehani could find a home with them; she'd be very well kept, and introduce young 'uns to the beauty of classic keel boats. Might be a good fit.

CJ
I’m disturbed to hear your diiciision, but understand…
I’ve spent a lot of time this winter with David, a 91 year old former boater.
He talked of how he reflects on his life as “chapters” …
And how as one ends, another begins…
Hopefully both you and your beautiful boat enjoy wonderful new chapters!
I have always respected your options and comments…
They were never from “reading”,  but were from both being “out there” and doing that! You are such an asset here and I recommend any new (and several older) members to look back on your posts! A treasure trove of knowledge!
CJ
Hope you find a good “fit” for your boat!
You’ve both served each other well…
Best wishes my friend
