Title: C&C HID Question
Post by: akronix on May 28, 2010, 09:14:06 AM
Hi guys.

I'm looking at a C&C30 for sale here locally (NE Ohio) and I noticed the HID indicates it's an Ohio Homebuilt Boat. The HID starts with OHZ

Is there any legitimate reason for it being like this?

I've got my own ideas on why it could be bad, but any experience from you guys would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Erik

Sounds odd. Could be an owner-completed boat, but... I don't know whether C&C sold bare hull/decks or not. Never heard of it if they did. Could be that it was some sort of salvage job and/or lost title w/rebuild where Ohio required the number change... It'll be interesting to find out the reason.

C&C never did 'kit boats'. The years the 30's were produced were strong years for growth within the company as well....assuming its the older classic 30. Great sailing boat FWIW. Kurts reply is most likely accurate.
