Here's another one for sale today..an old mod. of Havsfidra, with wodden roof
( right name?) and the owner had put it in grp, both the deck and roof, but the hull is in grp. almost the same boat as I owned many years ago..I think this is in better shape. I'll call him later. (about the K25, as mentioned before was in real bad shape= rotten=no thanks)
heres a drawing
I always liked the Fidra, since it's participation in the OSTAR single-handed transatlantic race in 1968 (or maybe -64) three Swedish guys were in that race with their sturdy little Koster Boats. They did prety well and have achieved something of a CULT status since.
Evantica - I've never actually sailed one of them, do they go to windward at all? At what angle?
really cute boat for sure... ;D
about the Fidra, I've sailed a fidra. and I do like the boat, make me fell safe. The only thing is that... the little space inside...hm! go windvard, no not that much hight against, I don't see that as an issue, If I will have to go couple of miles x-tra, I don't mind. But they are stronglybuilt and "vakar" nice in the open sea. and as you mentioned Maxiswe... several has crossed the Atlantic. I was In contact with the owner and I will go looking at it the next week (He'll hold the boat for me). there's also some x-tra "led" in the keel, as an earley owner planned a longdistance sailing. Feels like a possible longdistance sailor for me..."(cross your fingers)"
Pic. "Olle Landsell" In the head of a lonleysailor. Was done in a Havsfidra, to the carribian an back. Great book, only in swedish i think?!
