You might want to read this post (http://www.sailfar.net/forum/index.php?topic=1985.0) of mine. :)
thankyou AdriftAtSea
glad to help.... :) good luck... hope she turns out to be a keeper.
Hi Matt
I'm not familiar with the boat, but I think you mentioned in another post that you would be launching the boat from a trailer each time.
I would take a good look at the mast raising system on any boat you consider. Some boats come equipped with a gin pole, tackle, mast crutch etc. to make the process easier.
If its a pain to step/unstep and transport the mast, or you need help to do it, you probably wont sail as much
Probably also wise to check the trailer out thoroughly, since it will play a fairly big part if you're trailer sailing her. :) I like the A-frame based mast raising systems better than the single gin-pole ones, since I think they're a bit safer.
Thanks for the replies fella's , Ive had a little experiencs setting up the mast on my 12ft cat and it was a royal pain in the rear too do alone , on the plus side I am in the buisness of steel fabrication and have seen some sweet setups for mast raising that would be easy to duplicate . good point on the trailer and the mast .
;D well im off to buy a 1978 boomaroo (catalina) 22 . ;D cant wait to get on te water
Good for you... congratulations.... post photos when you can.:)
Congrats! I still have fond memories of the cat 22 I saild ;D

Very nice!!
Congrats... what are you going to name her??
not to sure what to name her ....... maybe boris ;)
Boris is a horrible name for a boat... :) Any photos of her yet??? We won't believe you've actually gotten her without photographic evidence. :) ;)
