What do you think of small lightweight boats for ocean passagemaking?
Pros: buoyant, unsinkable, small rigs, shallow draft
Cons: heavy motion, no standing room, can't take as much water/food
I remember the tales of his FIRST one- built in his mothers basement. materials hauled home on his bicycle.
And when he capsized in thee North sea and lived on Swedish meat balls for several weeks. Claimed it was YEARS before he could face one again
Didn't call himself Sven then though- i forget the name he went by back then
Found it- his name used to be Sven Lundin
That roll over was pretty fast, I wonder if he injured himself during the test.
Sure looks like padding would be needed!
I'd like to see some GPS tracks for the boat, see how she sails in some wind more than just ghosting. Appears to move quiet easily, though.
Maybe there's some on his website...
