Title: Audio Story - Sailing the Southern Ocean
Post by: Jim_ME on June 10, 2014, 02:16:32 PM
I just listened to this program by CBC Radio. Found it powerful and informative...on several levels...

The Godforsaken Sea
"The Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica is the most dangerous and least understood of our great oceans. A few solo sailors and an historian join Philip Coulter on a radio expedition to find out about those giant waves and fearsome storms."

Thought for a minute you may be thinking of converting a lil racer into a cruiser   ::) ;D :D

...pasted, posted, and dashed off without proofreading...

Am going to have to go beyond asking myself whether I pasted a link to actually checking to see if it's the link I actually want... It's a bit like when the spell checker doesn't flag what I misspelled because it is a perfectly spelled  different wrong word...  :-[

It's true that many of those sexy racing boats soon start to seem impractical compared to a small cruiser, but at least some can be car topped...  :D

Watching this, I was thinking that a row of mainsail reef points might be a handy thing...
