Title: Website of British guy who did the ICW
Post by: DavidCrosby on January 04, 2015, 10:43:56 AM
I found this video of a British guy that bought a Bristol 30 on ebay for $4,150 in New London, CT. Cruised south on the ICW all the way to Key West and then sold the boat in Fort Lauderdale for $4,000. I watched both videos last night and then found his blog.

Below is the link to part 1 (48 minutes) of his youtube video:

Part 2 of the video is almost 39 minutes.

Below is the link to the beginning of his blog.

That's Smacksman. Used to post back and forth with him on the old Woodenboat forum some years ago. He was re building a quite old fishing smack, which is where his screen name came from.

In the early part of the first one is a pic of his Emma flying a spinnaker AND a gaff spinnaker. Picture was taken just before the two man crew gybed the boat!!! Stop the video and count the sails.  ;)

Interesting guy, and the vids are particularly interesting to me since I've single handed most of the area he does in the videos. I've only made it half way through the second one so far
