Title: CitriStrip for bottom paint??
Post by: Bill NH on May 06, 2008, 05:03:21 PM
Just wondering if anyone has any experience using CitriStrip non-toxic stripping gel (available at the big orange home improvement store) on bottom paint?  Price is reasonable, just wondering how it might perform?

I've used it on latex paint inside the boat, and it works well for that. I've heard of another product which goes by the trade name of "PeelAway" that is supposed to work well for bottom paints. "PeelAway" comes with a waxed paper that you apply over top of the stripper, letting it sit for a number of hours before removal. I've wondered if the same couldn't be done with CitriStrip.
