Title: Petit introduces "kills" bottom paint with DDT.
Post by: s/v Faith on April 01, 2013, 09:27:54 AM
In a stunning reversal, Petet announced today that they will manufacture bottom paint with DDT.

"We know there will be some backlash, but our customers need something that will actually work for them" said Keith Blas, Petit's marketing head.  "No one is buying the water based paints, they seem to know they do nothing but amuse the barnacles, so we are returning to time tested chemicals to keep hulls clean".

The expected cost of a gallon of bottom paint is between $200 and $100,000 depending on the market.  California is expected to resist the application of effective anti-fowling, (think California Condor) but many Sailors have already gone on record as saying such birds are overrated anyway.

Call your local West marine and place your advance order today.
