Title: Water Filters
Post by: winkali on January 01, 2008, 05:42:52 PM
Happy New Year everyone. I am looking at installing an ''Aqua Filta'' water filter by Jabsco in my galley to get rid of odour and taste (flexible tank). I use a Fynspray manual pump in my galley and was wondering if there would be enough pressure to pump through the filter and how good they are. I would appreciate any help about this or any other filters.
Have a Great New Year
George  :D

I think you'll have problems, since most of those filters are designed to be used with a pressure water system, not a manual pumps.  I don't think you'll be able to generate enough lift to pull water, at any decent rate, through the filter.

I've used an Aquasource Water Filterthat works fine with a foot pump.  I got mine from Redden Marine Supply in Bellingham WA as they were cheaper than West Marine.  good luck  ::) ::)

We use a large stainless housed filter that came from an aircraft. It works just fine, BUT we use foot pumps and pump THROUGH the filter.

I refuse to have a hand pump aboard. We use a Whale large capacity foot pump
