Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

This stolen from another cruising site-

" We just received an e-mail from Donna! She made it into Virgin Gorda on the 29th and will arrive here tomorrow!

Donna was the first person we met upon arrival in St Thomas, when we dropped our hook in Secret Harbor, five years ago. She was living aboard her Southern Cross 28 - INSPIRED INSANITY - which she'd just purchased.

Since then (among other things) Donna has: circumnavigated the Atlantic Ocean alone, earned her captain's license, peeled & barrier coated her boat, sailed solo from the Caribbean to New England, sailed solo non-stop from New England to New Zealand via Cape Good Hope and sailed solo from New Zealand back to the Caribbean via Cape Horn... all on a shoe-string budget.

Donna Lange is inspirational and I'm proud to know her.

She has accomplished more than most can only dream about."

Donna was about 50 miles away from Ken Barnes when he had his problems, also single handed and in the same storm system.

Thanks Charlie....GREAT inspiration..great small boat story. It would be cool to send her 'congrats' from this 'small boat-long distance' site.  Make her a honourary commadore or something ;-)  ..thoughts Kurt??   Her e-mail must be somewhere

Here's a link to her website-

In case the name sounds familiar- she's a singer and has put out some sailing Cd music.

Oh and the boat's name is Inspired Insanity, and is home ported in the Virgin islands. It's a canoe sterned boat, which is why the picture on her web site shows as "Inspired Virgin" .  ;D The other side reads "Insanity Islands)
