Must have just missed CJ - I was on until 10 Eastern/9 CJ time.

By the time John got there, I was "sawing logs" in my berth... ;D

A belated 'good night' to all.

After getting dropped (on my end) for the second time last night I was unable to get a connection back.

Will there be anyone chatting tonight?

Just curious.  I MAY be able to check in briefly ...

We'll be sitting in on some pitch sales,  so we can get some not so free, because we are paying with our time, listening to some boring sales pitch, for 90 min. flight tickets to maybe go to Florida

I've visited the chat room several times in the last couple of weeks...sometimes during the day, but mostly between 8:00 pm and 11 pm (Eastern Time).  I have yet to find anyone there.

Cap'n Smollett told me that Tuesday evening had been suggested as a possible "chat" evening.  I've tried that too and no one was there.

Seems like a great opportunity to share thoughts and ideas in "real time".  Is anyone using the chat room on a regular basis?  If so, when?

Just curious.

ED,

Normally Tuesday night around 9pm EST (or maybe 9 CST...)
we meet in there.  Also helpful if you see someone online that you want to talk to.

I have struck out once or twice, but most Tuesday nights I have logged in there have been a couple folks online.

Hope to see you there.  :)

Ed,

I think the closest to a regular schedule is Tuesday nights, but is 'hit or miss.'  The best bet, I think, is to check (perhaps repeatedly) 21:00 EDT or so and keep checking until two (or more) happen to be on at the same time.  This past week, a few chatted, but I don't know what time it really got going.

If you have a specific date/time you would like to 'organize' a chat, post about it on here to see if anyone can make it.  TSBB has their regular chat on Mondays (or they used to), so folks here try to avoid then.

It is pretty cool to chat, but be warned: sometimes the discussion strays from sailing.  ;)

Hopefully, we can have another chat with Neal soon.  That was really cool.

(Kurt, if we DO get another chat with Neal, might I suggest a round robin style question format so he does not have 10 people firing questions at him all at once?  Each person could type there question but not hit enter until it is their turn...or something.  This would probably add delays while he reads and types his response, but man, looking at that log there are like 4-5 questions asked for each he gets to answer.  Food for thought).

Actually the TSBB chat's are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at around 20 00 CST, or perhaps a tad later. I wandered in Tuesday night around 21 there were two names up but no one responding, so after a while I left.

We had been having a pretty regular group on Tuesdays but I think the weather warmed up and sailing began  ;)

I sometimes log in and if there is no one else on, do other work on my computer while checking periodically.  Sometimes, I forget to check back!  :-[

Since we seem to play good, multi-hour games of 'cyber-tag,' If logging-on and just 'waiting for a reply,' I propose that we agree to check-in on 15 minute intervals zero'd to the top of the hour.  We all have our clocks synched to either world time servers or ONR time standard, right???

I missed at least two people last night by mere seconds.

Excellent suggestion.  ;D

I checked in a couple times last night, to find on one home.  :-\  Next week, if I am available, I will check in on the hour, or the quarter.

I will do the same.  I totally forgot last night was Tues and missed the chat all together.  I remembered this morning.  :(
Good idea!

Is the chat room open tonight? And does Capt. K exist?

Zen

The good Capt is working on a highly secret undercover project. If I told you any more than that, you would have to be...lets say...neturalized. 8)
There are others who are watching in his temporary absense.  8)

The chat room is always open...just ain't nobody there.  Just out of curiosity I went to the chat room at 7:00, stayed 10 or 12 minutes, logged off, went again about 8:05 pm, stayed for 15 minutes and logged off again.  Will try again at 9:00 pm to catch some of the folks that said they would monitor the chat room at the top of the hour.

CapnK has reportedly been kidnapped by aliens who are holding him for ransom.  Or maybe that was just Pixie Dust getting even with him for his slanderous trip report.  ???

See ya' at 9:00
