I heard a couple of guys in black trench coats talking...  Zen, you've said too much already... get down to the marina, and get out of town for a few days while the heat blows over.

John,

Finally found someone in the chat room...well, almost there.  Frank tried several times to log on...them immediately logged off.  Mike managed to type a couple of sentences but his keyboard wasn't working properly.  At least now I know that my setup is OK.  I can imagine that it might get interesting with several people logged on at once.

Anyhow, I'm enjoying the site immensely...keep up the good work.

We were there. I came in for a few before I had to go help the mrs. do some handy work.

Ed D...don't mind 'dumb ass' here...I tried several times , but couldn't seem to get a message on...it took me 7mths to figure out how to downsize a picture to post...so I figure by Jan-Feb ..I'll be in the chat room talking. Me and these d.. things don't get along at times...kind of a luv-hate relationship

I've been getting in there, but due to my up-n-down wireless access, it gets frustrating at times.

This past Tuesday was really bad - some young dudes on my dock were prepping to go deepwater fishing Wed, they were line-of-sight between my boat and the antenna, and I think their radios were making my signal worse than usual.

But I can't moan too much - the access is free, after all. :)

I'll talk w/Neal about scheduling another chat with him sometime soon. Spoke with him earlier this week, he's just bought into a 50' cat, lying Trinidad. On her transat crossing, she averaged *300 mile days*. Woot! :D

(1) I was thinking about another possible chat with Neal and realized he probably gets at least a little tired of being the focus of a group like that.  I know I would.  Why don't we invite Neal to join our chats when he wishes, just as "one of us" (not to have q's constantly fired at him from five points).  I'm very grateful of the opportunity we had before to bend his ear about his experiences and our plans, but I thought he might like something a little more low-key once in a while.

(2) It seems that Stephan, the head of Defender Industries, is a very approachable guy and is at least a little bit willing to occasionally interact with us customers.  :)  I was thinking about extending an invitation to him as well to drop in on one of our chats.  This would give him an opportunity to gauge the needs/requirements of this niche group of sailors (he probably gets constant earfuls from racers).

Just some thoughts...what do you all think?

Got an Email from Neal, and he MAY be able to stop by the chat tonight.  I'll be on at around 21:15 or 21:30 EDT, but I cannot stay late tonight.

I was just in chat.....And needed to go do something for five minutes, and came back to find that someone else had logged on and then left when I did not reply. My first indication that I am not in my own little universe when I log on.

I will be there for another half hour or so (well I will stay logged on and keep an eye out)...

Say hello if you wish.

That MAY have been me.  I check in a little after 23:00 EDT, but needed to hit the rack.  So, I did not stick around - I would not have been able to stay on long anyway.  I'm still getting used to the new sleep schedule.

Sorry I missed the chat last night (if it ever got really wound up).  I was looking forward to the Tuesday night meeting of the minds...  :)

As the French would say - "Le bum!"  ;D ;)

I was off helping out an old timer who works p/t as one of the marina "dock crew", really nice guy, he needed me to come "fix" his computer. He and his wife, when it comes to computers, are *totally* clueless outside of the few clicks I taught them (and wrote down) to get their Gmail. But they try! :) Anyway, his wife had a stroke a few months back, and besides allowing her to stay in contact with folks, her doc said using the 'puter will help bring back her motor skills. I hadn't been able to get over Sun or Mon, and today will be outta the question, so last night was it...

Going over there isn't the problem, it's just a few miles. *Leaving*, though, is a different story - both of 'em just love to have a visitor and chat.  8) By the time I got out of there, and through WalMart for outboard motor oil changing supplies, and filled up a tank of gas for said propulsive evacuative unit, 'twere awful late... :)
