MORE SD Stereos - Ilo has one out now available at Wally World for 179.00.  I know their little MP3 players are decent but have no idea about their larger stuff.  The head unit looked kinda funny as it would stick out from the 'dash' about an 1 1/2".  When I went to pick up a SD card for my MP3 palyer I saw they have some little cases that hold about a dozen SD cards (man I'd hate to lose that full of 1gig cards at 90.00 ea)

Zen

I just finished today after a couple of weeks on & off work the new stereo installation. My orginal setup departed this world. So I had an extra car stereo a Jensen am/fm/cd unit around. I was going to sell but came in handy. 4 speaker system. I have it installed on a little shelf inside the rear, oops aft hanging closet. runs off a 12 volt converter when able to shore power. Able to switch to 12 volt system when under way. I was able to get my groove on whilst doing other projects today...in the words of the late Jackie Gleason " how sweet it is!"  :D

Since space is so critical on the Triton, my music system consists of an Apple iPod Photo in a waterproof case.  I can load music, photos, audio books, pod casts, etc from my laptop and run the sound through the laptop's external speakers.

Another advantage the iPod has is that it is really just a hard drive with an interface, and as such can be used by the laptop as an external hard drive for backing up ships papers etc.

Last fall we added a sirius satellite radio.  We cruise off Florida and it allows us to get weather as well as whatever type of music we want.  From what I've heard there's excellent reception even in the Bahamas

Well  - I'm about to make some changes in my system. The cd player in my truck died so I'm pulling the one out of the boat to install in the truck.  The new boat head unit will have these features  AM/FM/CD - Aux FRONT input for MP3 etc - and SatRadio compatable.  You know its pretty sad when you have nicer stereo in the boat than you do in the tow vehicle - but then again when I used the Scout I didnt even have a radio other than the CB and VHF

OH - got a report on the Ilo head units that take SD cards - they suck so dont buy one  Also looks like JVC is taking theirs off the market to sort out some troubles

Sounds perfectly logical to me.  I'm planning on spending a lot more time in the boat than in the tow vehicle.   ;)
