;D Too bad the persimmons aren't ripe yet- be much easier to pick- IF there were any left!!

Yeah, It's the remains of Gustav.  Been raining steady for a little over two days now with a little gust now & again.
It's no great loss, I've got a yard full of them.
It really smells sweet around here when they all fall on the ground. You gotta watch your step then, they are SLICK!
All the local deer and a dozen or so resident raccoons (and a few hundred yellowjackets) have a feast.

We have a big Persimmon tree  at our farm up in east Texas ( Between Livingston and Lufkin). I love when they are falling- I wander under the tree and just stuff myself with them.

Laura and I tried pureeing some one year for Persimmon cake and pies. OH BOY is THAT a bunch of work for little return;D Of course ours aren't the large Japanese Persimmons. Ours only get around an inch and a half at the most.

I've got some wild trees down in one pasture that bear heavily, but they are tiny- maybe 1/2" fully ripe.

That's how mine are, 'bout 1" or so.  I don't care for them myself.
I mentioned jelly once to my wife........I'm sure you know the LOOK that got me.............

Now I can throw in another persimmon tree and a 2+ft diameter oak tree.
Although to be perfectly honest......there's a double wide holdin' the oak tree
up.  sorta'.....nothin' serious though.
