Boats= work!! Jubilee weathered well..BUT..changed the waterpump impeller this mornin, did a gelcoat touch up(anchor gouge) Had late breakfast and now off to sand bottoms, paint, cetol and wax. :-(

Geesh, Frank - maybe you should just sell that boat, and the rest of 'em, too. They're nothing but work. Hot work, down in the islands. Don't know how you can stand it...

Hi Frank, Not stealing at Man Jack Cay as the person on land lets the cruisers use his so that cruisers can write home after arriving in the Abacos.

Have fun, a little front comming in the next 2 days. Just enough to put some clouds in the sky, wash the boat for free and drop the temps from the 80's into the mid 70's.

The wind has been still here and the water is so clear that dinghying around is like floating in the air. Stranger at night.

Crossed the 'big river' yesterday from the Westend GrandBahamaIsland to Stuart. Took 18.5 hrs..then motored in to anchorage after dark...long day!! Have been to Green Turtle, Manjack, AllensPensacola, Mangrove and WestEnd so far. Here in Florida about a week then heading back.

Wow, 18.5 hrs, you must have sailed/motored sailed. I hope the autopilot was working.

See you in a couple of weeks.

Frank - are you going to cross over tonight?

If you stick around much longer, buy an autopilot. Very well worth it. Or atleast crew on somebodies boat that has one.

Frank

I'll probably cross mid next week.Provisioning and visiting. Auto pilot is repaired now  ;D Can't wait to get back...

Left Indiantown yeasterday heading east on the St Lucie canal.Locked thru and ran into Craig/Rose and Peterdog in Manetee Pocket...almost literally. As I went to raft up and make my final turn to come along side...the OB had vibrated in the opposite direction and the boat would not turn...REVERSE!!!   "don't try this at home kids, I'm a trained professional"  ;D  (no Kurt..alcohol was NOT involved ;)) They are happy and truly seemed to have enjoyed their cruise.Peterdog is very content on the boat and knows his way around deck with ease.Craig and I had Peterdog out for a couple of walks.Craig BBQ'd steaks and to his own surprise..didn't overdo them.I had faith (couldn't resist the pun) They are refueling this am and heading off for the 3pm lock opening. The canal is as low as I've seen it in my 5yrs up/dwn this end. I tried to swing the compass on a new tillerpilot twice and ran aground both times.Had to wait until near Stuart for enough water to complete it.Craig and Rose loved the Exumas and report Connie is happy and in a great situation.I wish them well on their transit of the canal and an enjoyable time at their son's wedding in march. Rose stated it would be hard to get her back out after grandkids show up...Craig...get planning your return quick!! ;D I warned them that there are crocs on the canal and to be careful walking Peterdog.I had taken pictures of crocs at Indiantown marina 2 days before. The sign reading 'don'd feed the crocodiles' was not for humour.I have to get a new battery today.Left the bilge pump on (by accident) for who knows how long. The poor battery simply isn't coming back.Off to Lake Worth soon and Bahamas bound on wed. as there is a S wind called for.I'd like to say that Both Craig and Rose stated as I've posted before...it is the people you meet along the way that make it interesting and rewarding.I'm very thankful to be out here and thankful to have met both Craig and Rose.Fine people!!

Thanks Frank,

It was really great getting to meet you.  Really enjoyed the evening, and appreciate (again) all your encouragement as we got ready to go.  We saw several gators today too, we are right now on the hook right off a park / boat ramp near Indian Town.

Hope you got your battery issue worked out today, and wish you a great crossing.  That new boat is really impressive, I am really surprised at all the 'goodies' that come on it.  It seems like a really great Bahamas boat.

Take care, Fair Winds, and SailFar!  ;D
