G-Charts Garmin

I'm bidding on an old Garmin 215 chartplotter that uses G-Charts. The charts are discontinued although used ones are available at times.

Is there anywhere I can get the schematics or specs for the G-Chart so I can make my own from readily available GPS data.  There can't be much to the circuit.
