Captain Jack's is advertising 50% off everything...  They don't have the worlds greatest selection, but if they have something you need it would be good to compare prices!  Check here. http://www.capjack.com/store/main.aspx  No mention of how long the sale lasts.

Wow,

This is almost hard to believe, has anyone done business with these folks before?

I have 3 items in my cart, and was filling in my cc # but think I am gonna wait till I hear from someone who has done business with these folks.....

I did about 2 years ago. No problems and prompt. Good computer tracking software.

I got some otherwise hard-to-find parts for my auto pilot from them a couple of years back.  No problems at all with the service or billing.

I swear sometimes I'm worse than a woman resist a sale!  ;D I went to the site, ordered a couple of things, just got it today.  Fast shipping, etc.  FWIW

OK...  if half off didn't get your attention, it's now 75% off!  See the ad at  http://www.capjack.com/store/main.aspx

Wow,

Glad I waited, ended up adding a couple items to my cart.  Those sail bags are great, and for $12 a peice good time to stock up.   ;D  Thanks!

I got an email saying that all 24 items, and both orders I placed were cancelled.  The sender said they were out of stock on all items....

... hope everyone else had better luck.

Mine wasn't much better - 2 items delivered.

But they turned out not to be what I thought. Argh.

That said, I can still use them. Inflatable pillows, "Flaty" brand. I thought they were a whole *pad*, with a pillow, not just flat...

Doh!!! ::) :-\

Bummer  and I was kicking myself for not being able to take advantage of the sale.

I got an e-mail saying that they were basically going out of business...and that most of what I ordered was not available.  I did get two solar-powered bluetooth GPS units for dirt cheap though. Kind of cool beasties. Work just fine with the Mac, even though their software doesn't support the Mac, since they show up as a bluetooth serial port... and NMEA 0183 data is something than the Mac programs do speak.

I saw those.. thought they were kinda neat.  Could not figure out any way I was goning to use them, which has never stoipped me before...  ;D

Glad someone got something they could use though....

I had ordered a set of the pads too... guess my wal-mart closed cell foam pool float will have to do.

The GPS units can also act as GPS loggers... and don't need a separate power supply or computer and are fairly compact.

I got some good deals under the "75 percent off" sale: lightweight Gill "spray" jackets for $24 each, and a "last-call" VHF recording device for $18.50 (retails for $109), but lots of the stuff I ordered was already gone--as, apparently, is Capt. Jack's.

I former colleague who works for another division of Maptech e-mailed me yesterday to say, "We are still for sale, but anticipate things progressing soon with a
new owner."

I just hope they continue to support my Ocean Navigator software!

--Joe

P.S. I don't really need a "last-call" VHF recorder, it's really for commercial mariners. But at that price, how could I refuse?
