 Thanks Adrift,
I've been checking out the YRA schedule to see how many races I can work in,in between naps of course. ;)

that is one way of looking at it.

Hmm I am jealous.

When I was much younger I worked for an Internationa Airline at Kennnedy airport in NYC. I would get laid off in the winter and be guaranteed a job in spring. I was entitled to a 90 day airline pass for $150 which meant I could board any flight to anywhere on a stand by basis. I did a LOT of traveling but had I owned a sailboat then I would have chosen to stay on board.   ;D

ENJOY !

Working in retail construction I usually get my layoff in October and I'll be off till the 1st of February. But last year the cruel bastards worked me like a rented mule all winter.
I've never had a summer layoff.
Do you think the extra daylight will affect my napping?

A forced vacation - sounds like good fortune!

There's plenty of racing on the Bay.  Here's one to take a look at:  the Singlehanded Sailing Society's Corinthian Race on May 31.  The sailing instructions can be found at:

http://www.sfbaysss.org/2008/PDF/corinthian_race_sailing_instructions_2008.pdf

And here's a look at the course:

That image is a little confusing.  The course is: Start - Little Harding - Blossom - Blackhaller - Southhampton Shoals - Yellow Bluff - Finish.

Of course, Tim, Jim, and Zen ought to take a look, too!  :)

The Ariel Association is having their annual Hoppe Memorial Regatta the following weekend, so I will probably save myself for that ;)

I haven't been out enough yet to even consider a course like the SS Corinthian race.

The Ariel race is really just a cruise around Angel Island (mostly just an excuse for a party I think.  ;D

The Corinthian Race looks a bit too much like work to me. I mainly just do Beercan racing in the evenings
You'll have to excuse me I feel a nap coming on.

So . . . how much sailing have you gotten in? Compared to naps?!

My personal recession occurred in 1998.  Been sailing non stop ever since.  Great!

Start teaching sailing?  It is WAY too much fun.
