I had the opp. to join in a week long 'guy's only' fishing trip around Desolation Sound just north of Vancouver. This is an annual tour...kind of like their version of deer season up home here. We'd motor about 4-6 hours per day and anchored out all but one night.Set prawn and crab traps...ate like kings and drank like fishs  ;D What a trip.It is an absolutely beautiful erea. The trip was early november and you could go on deck barefoot for a wizz at 3am and not get a chill. If any of you have an opp. to see that erea ... GO !  It really is a must-see and perfect for small craft.Tide charts are a must as the narrow entrances can get standing water if entered at peek flows but with care to navigation and tides it is beyond compare. At one anchorage the 4 of us sat out back in the sunshine cleaning crabs looking up at snow capped mountains. It is a very mountainous erea and many inlets have fyord like charactoristics.Don't tell anyone but the trawler was very nice.Woke up with the heater on and the smell of coffee..sit and look out from inside with windows all around.Steer inside in the rain and fairly economical at a gallon an hour @ 6 knots. Fun time...going back next year.

Great!!! It really is a most beautiful area. We had a spectacular Sept. trip this year.

What I want to know is how the heck did you have time to do that and STILL get so much done on the Electra. ???

Sounds & looks like it was a blast! Delicious looking crab...

That place must look a lot colder than it is... Or maybe, it seems warm to *you* because you are from Canada? ;D

I would be out @ 3AM wearing wool socks, long pants, a hat and jacket, and still probably would wind up "exercising my vocabulary" until I could crawl back into my nice warm bunk... :D
