Kind of makes sense, if you think about it...why should they make a different size battery when they have to crank out AA batteries by the bucket load anyways??

  Greg, that was a good catch.  I have to admit, I was duped too.  I really don't see any reason that they could not mfg a 6v battery with 8 banks of 4 aa size batteries... but it is sad that I was duped since I HAVE cut them open BEFORE...  ::)

OTOH, I was once looking for an 'a' cell battery, (or was it a 'b'?) that is basically a longer 'c' cell.  I might have found it in a lantern battery...

Yep I messed up.  After researching this there are 4 cells in a 6V battery which resemble D Cell batteries only a bit longer.   ::)
