Norm and Cube Monkey here.  Actually, cube monkey works from home now and her cube is the teeny tiny bedroom.  She moved out of the office tower cube recently.

I, Norm, came home from the BVI Jan 26.  Shoveled snow all day the 27th.  On the 28th I said I wanted to buy a wedding ring.  So, E and I drove off to local pawn broker, sold a surplus wedding ring and bought one that fit me.  Blah blah.  I guess that makes us married?

Heck of a proposal, huh?  My back up explaination was that I was tired of getting picked up by stray sailing students.  E asked me to try again.  I did. Second time i rolled out the "I love you" expression... more to the point.  She signed on.  Girls!

Thought you all might be amused.  We sent out some announcements with the subject line "No action required" since we are not planning to have party or anything like that.  Instead about three dozen people are asking questions like, "when" and   "where" and "what can we bring" and now we have to have a party at our house.  So much for "take no action."

Along the way, Valentines Day Weekend, we had a really nice drive (honeymoon?) along the coast of NJ, DL, MD, VA, and NC to see family in Raleigh and work in Charlotte for Elizabeth.  Cape May: we sighted a yawl rigged Pearson 35, Merganser ducks and red throated loons (ask E for birds, I do boats)  In the Elizabeth City area we saw a cool junk rigged schooner at Lamb's Marina and some Yummy geese.

Life is good.

Averisera is floating nicely at her winter berth.  We have jobs.  Thirty plus folks are showing up at our place to trash the house in a few weeks.  You'd think a couple of 59 year olds would merit a yawn, at best.  This is fun!

Wow, that is really cool - and I'm glad to hear that she let you slide by on that second "proposal (of sorts)".  :D

The house trashing exercises will begin promptly when they begin.  To put a time on it:  Noon East Coast Time. 

Cube monkey's mother is showing up to supervise.  Race Committee Tom is running the kitchen.  Sailmaker Francois will handle deserts.  Son Andrew is tending bar.  Son in law Stos is doing music.  We still need a sherpa for trash out and fire wood in.

Yes:  Take no action for one minute at noon on sunday the 15th.  A great idea.

Meanwhile... this evening we are going to look for a dress for mama.  Have you any idea about how hard it is to buy a dress?  Yup, we considered new foul weather gear instead.

Foul weather gear sounds good.  Did you consider shorts, t-shirts, and bare feet on a nice warm white sand beach somewhere south?   :)  Simplifies the dress buying issue.   ;)

Give us more info and directions.  It would be a bit of a ride, but we're dying for things to do here in Oklahoma this time of year.  The last big no-action we had was the Annual Two-Cylinder John Deere Tractor Parade.  Maybe we could find a couple old school buses around here to charter.

Seriously, it is fun to share the event virtually with our sailfar family.  The house is looking pretty nice.  E has a stunning dress.  Race Committee Tom and GF, BJ, are helping keep things in focus.

My employers Rob and Gina Swain (swainsailing.com) are offering us a boat for a BVI honey moon and Gina asked if Cubemonkey would help teach a course?  I gather there are two couples coming down from Canada to do ASA 103, 104, 105, 106 all at once.  Gina thinks I need help from the distaff side.  My guess is yes.
