Hello ran across this boat on Craigs list. They call it a Pearson Pacific Dolphin 22-24'? Having trouble finding info on it. If anyone knows anything would love to hear from ya. I'm trying to find a vessel for the scoot!

Looks like they were built by a few different builders (o'day, yankee and pacific dolphin, inc.) , it doesn't say anything about pearson.  I dunno,  but that site has a ton of info though including a full history and lots technical info on upgrades ands fixes.
Nice looking boat.

I would be very careful of the storage lien on the title, the guy is trying to sell it without the title (for parts).

There were actually several different makers of Dolphins.  There was a good comparison of the various ones in Good Old Boat about two years ago or so.

I've been on one, nice, it had a center board in keel but owner said he never use it.
Won quite a few races.

There were a couple on a lake where I liked to spend Autumn moths. when they passed you you heard this raw sound of power.  Those people reported spending summer in the San Juan, Gulf Islands are of Washington and British Columbia.

Some of these may have been of the Yankee Dolphin but mostly all the same.

If it's not to far I'd deff. take a look.

Really interesting boats.  Some years ago an elderly man in Newport Beach, California owned one which he kept on a trailer in a restaurant parking lot.  Every few years he would launch, sail to Hawaii, and then sail back.  He lived on board in the parking lot when not sailing.

Some of the early ones had glass hulls and wood cabins.  A few had inboard engines, I believe.  One that I know of was supposedly built for the company owner and has no centerboard.

To me they seem to be the smaller brother to the Tartan 27, which has a fine reputation in its own right.

FWIW, let me add some more positive feedback on the Dolphin 24:

When I was looking for a new boat, I hired a surveyor to check out a candidate. He gave the boat a quick once-over and told me not to go near it. We talked some more about what I wanted (size, a shoal keel, good construction, room in the cabin, etc.).

One of the boats he suggested I check out was the Dolphin 24. ("Watch out for the swing keel," he cautioned.)

Well, I settled on a Cape Dory 25D instead, but I've always respected this surveyor's opinion. He's widely respected here in the Northeast--if he recommends the Dolphin 24, it should be a good boat to check out.

Joe- What exactly should I be watching out for on the swing keel? Any other known problem areas? I'm gonna try to take a look at it next saturday.

What is the hull number on this boat?" It's been a month, did you buy it. I own hull #300, the very last one made. Hoping do do first re-launch and first voage to Catalina Island this summer.

Good luck with your boat search. The Dolphin is question is now named Cats Paws. The boat was really in better shape than it showed. See current pics and info on dolphin24.org, hull #279.
