A. Will they thrive on a diet of fish and seaweed, and:  B. Barbecuability? ;)  Hey, I might need this information someday!

Pigs are omnivores, so they'd probably do okay on a fish and seaweed diet... but might need some vitamin supplements. :)  As for edibility... do you know how to skin and butcher a pig??? If not, then eating them might be a bit complicated for you.

I am pretty sure pigs can and will thrive on a fish/seaweed and whatever else they can find diet. Especially in the Bahamas :D

I have been there and I can assure you they get more than fish/seaweed  ;) and occasionally one of them disappear from the beach, which is a good thing because the overpopulation eventually is unhealthy.
Also they can get quite aggressive (worse than seagulls)

And what would the locals do if they found you slaughtering one strung up on a halyard on your mast? (I have slaughtered my own pigs and I do enjoy bacon and a occasional pork chop) I may have to shoot one and run for the open seas :)

On this particular beach there aren't any locals and although the pigs are protected a little by their tourist attraction factor, that has not stopped a few of them from disappearing.

Before I get it from the PETA section, I would note that Pigs, esp domestic then feral pigs, destroy an island like no other, and can wipe out plant species and completely trash an area. I think they should be controlled for their own sake, or they may destroy their own habitat. (Hey, why does this sound familiar?)

I think all islands with a piggie problem should have a tiny piggie icon on nav charts...
