this might be straying from what i would think would be the small boat theme but bear with me . . .
the allied boat works were located here in catskill  and it's a shame that we don't have at least one allied sitting out in our mooring field  . . .
i hope to change that some time in the future . . .
for me,it's hard to fathom the the first fiberglass sailboat to sail around the world was built right here on our little creek . . .

I've been casually browsing the listings looking for a new liveaboard.  I ran across this listing:

I love it....

The linking is messed up.  Keeps throwing an extra 'http//' into the mix.  But, yeah, that's the boat.

FWIW, if you can find them, both the Allied Seawind and Seabreeze are wonderful boats. I know people who owned them, sold them and have regretted doing so ever since. There is an Allied owners' group out there, but I'm not sure how much info is available on the web.

that would make a great live-aboard if i lived someplace where i wouldn't have to have her hauled out every winter . . .
after the dutch sailing barges came up here for a visit during the summer, i decided that was the way to go if i was going to live-aboard year round up here . . .
they have steel hulls and from the photos that i seen from the netherlands getting iced in doesn't seem to hurt them at all . . .
plus those leeboards look so damned sexy !

Sorry Adam, I did not see these thread before I posted about to you about the Allied Seawind. I guess we think along the same lines.
