WOW, batt replacement for our EPIRB

I just got a note back from a local place. To replace the battery on our ACR Global Fix GEPIRB. They said it was $300. :o  :o  And that was if it passed the pressure test! ::)

Plans now are to head back to the Sea of Cortez for the rest of the year, so I think we will not get the new battery. With the price of new EPIRBs it might just be better to chuck it and get a new one before we head south!  ???

Greg- I just bought a brand new everything for 450 from Defender. Has a 6 year guarantee on the battery....

Now THAT is what I am talking about! ;D Why spend at least 300 and hope it passes the test, when 450 gets you a NEW unit god for 6 years!
