VERY nice!  That curved cabintop instead of the main hatch slider and the transom hung rudder remind me of a Contessa 26...  I think you'll like that snug quarterberth underway too.  But of everything on the boat, that Lavac head will save you the most headaches and frustration.  I swear you can pump almost anything through it without plugging up (no joker and flapper valves to jam) as long as you maintain the hand pump! 

Not bad for a first boat - in fact its a boat that most any sailor would be proud of, experienced or not!  ENJOY!!

Thanks for all the comments, thought I would share the result of the survey, Below is a summary of the insurance/ pre-purchase survey I commisioned, luckily the only major problem, (and only major due to removal of engine) is the beefing-up of the glass around the ply holding the engine mounts.....

CONCLUSION.       

The vessel "Swedman" was found to be generally sound and overall remains in
good condition for a 40 year old craft.
The hull has some "wicking" evident and the topsides paint work is a little
poor cosmetically.

She does benefit from having a new engine, however the beds need to be
reinforced.

Summary of more minor defects:

Hull Int:    Water tank. (in keel, needs to be opened, examined, possibly epoxy)

Sea cocks:  Renew.

Deck:  Service winch.  Renew guardwires.

Rig:  Service boom and mast sheeve.

Anchor:  Additional cable required.

Gas:  Remove gas system.

Fire extinguishers:  Test / service / replace extinguishers.

Engine:  Engine beds.  Fuel / water hoses.  Flexible coupling.

She is being transported the 200miles to her new homw next week!!!!

If you need to coat the water tank with epoxy, I'd recommend using CeRAM-Kote 54, which is an epoxy specifically designed for lining potable water tanks.

Thanks for all the compliments, she was delivered last friday, spent saturday removing gas system, going with kero, now got to replace all thru hulls and seacocks, to save one hole in hull i'm going to remove sink and then glass over hole and use a removable bowl, well it's a start!!!!!

    Hi max_hyde and Hello to the forum this is my first post. Max the boat is beautiful. You should have great confidence in the Tyler Boat Co. that built your boat. One of my earlier boats was a 7 meter Cinder made by Tyler Boats 69 or 70. She was brought across the pond to the USA on her own bottom(not by me). I fell in love with her looks and she seemed to love the Chesapeake storms, had roller reefing, a 12 HP petrol motor that was hard to start but pushed the boat very good. I wish I still had her but big boat itus got me. So happy sailing, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth. TOM
