This sounds like a really good topic for a book. Does it say anything about harvesting seaweed for salads/veggies? I've always wondered if that could be done. I know many l/d voyagers I've read about weren't averse to making a barnacle soup from barneys harvested off of objects adrift that they'd run across. It would be neat to be able to supplement ship stores with the bounty of the sea, besides fishing. Kind of like the "primitive camping" we did back in Boy Scouts. :)

I donot recall all of the books contents......however it was a small formatted yellowish covered spiral bound book......this was over 20 yrs ago.....I am sure this book is still around at most marine stores.I remember it was about growing sprouts...and other things on board.....something about primitive refridgeration.....a"cold ball" .....making electricity......all that kinda stuff....solar stills for freshwater from seawater....
