All, I wanted to post some info here regarding Halifax Harbour. I am the Commodore of one of the local clubs, and I have seen several US flagged vessels come into our marina, then turn around and leave. I do not know if they are looking for a place to stop for a day or not, as they often do not call on the VHF, or maybe not on the right channel.

Anyways, I want to put out there, that if you are headed this way, please note that most local clubs moniter 68. Also, visit our websites and write down our numbers, or better yet send us an e-mail if you are able to plan that far in advance.

I feel very helpless thinking we have moorings, and possibly dock space available but have to watch a boat come in, then turn around and leave without any idea if I could have helped them out.

Here is the Clubs Website, feel free to drop me an e-mail if you plan on heading this way. I will do my best to make your visit to Halifax a good one.

Thank you, Greenman. Halifax is on my short list of destinations (still have a relative or two there). I had hoped to get to the Tall Ships Festival last summer.

Looking forward to getting there, by sea or by trailer-sailing.
