I popped the question to my girlfriend Natasha on september 12th and she said yes.  Over the past month I contemplated popping the second question to my now fiance and when I did she said yes again, so a cruising life its going to be for the two of us  ;D I don't think i could be any happier either, my dreams are finally taking shape and the wind that is life is now slowly filling my sails.

She has made only one demand so far, that is the boat must be a center cockpit with an aft cabin, it doesn't have to be a walk-thru model though although that would be nice.

My question to you friends is what boats to browse to find quality in that category without going over say 30k purchase price?

Thank you,
Ryan

Congratulations on both!

Sorry I cannot offer suggestions on center cockpit boats. The only ones I have seen are big boats.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

if it were up to me I would be getting something smaller with an aft cockpit but i figure since she said yes i could at least accomodate her only request, i am looking at O'day 32CC and the largest is an Irwin 38CC, but for under 30k gold dollars the market is slim pickings, the good news is 2 pockets contributing to the kitty instead of 1 so we can afford slightly more

Congrats (& Grog), Ryan! On *both* questions, and the answers! ;D

S2 made some CC boats - lotsa freeboard on them, though. Don't know if they are well-built enough for open ocean sailing, but for coastal work/gunkholing, might be just what you (two) are looking for.

I've been on/worked on the 26', S2 8.0C - huge inside, for the LOA:

and slightly larger is the S@ 9.2C, here's one fer sale, $25K in San Diego:

Good luck to y'all!

Congratulations!!!!

I've always loved the look of the Chris Craft Sail Yacht 35....

not to be confused with the Chris Craft Carribean 35 which is the same
hull but different deck.

Either would probly fit your pricerange.

heavy boats.

Nor'Sea, its "kinda" like a center cockpit, and still has the the aft cabin!
