Well if every thing goes ok we will be taking the boat to the gulf coast and getting under way some time next week. the plan is to follow the icw along the coast and go to Pensacola. and then  on south from there. I will be going with sailfar member Polecat on this renegade . He has been working on the boat for about the last 2 1/2 years and has it looking good. We will up date as we go. So underway we go!

Any sail boat regardless of size is a potential world cruiser, but a power boat is nothing more than a big expense at the next fuel dock

Outstanding!

Congrats!  What a great time of year to be sailing.

Let me know when you guys will be in Pensacola.  Where do you plan to stay?  Will you anchor, or will you be looking for a marina?

Sorry for the delay at getting back to the board, have not been able to get on the net. Looks like we will be delayed until Saturday be fore we can move the boat to the coast. A few things came up that had to be finished and as everyone knows you never stop repairing or replacing stuff on a sail boat.
We plan on finding a anchorage in Pensacola where we can repair/modify as needed. I will up date as I know more

Well the boat is afloat. We had a really fun time getting it in the water, the original ramp we were going to use was so slitled up that water was only about 18 inches deep for about 25 foot from the end of the ramp. We finally found a place the locales use that was deep enough (the uhaul had water just over the door seal in the back) . It took a couple of days to get the mast up and it was well worth the cost (a couple of cases of beer) so now Sooner is in the water and the mast is up and a few more trials and off we go and that should be this Sunday.
By the way the Tosiba 9.8 with a 4 bladed prop moves the boat at about 6.5 knts at half throttle

Well, you're set to go sailing, and you will take a trip when you're good an ready.

Keep us posted when you do.

I only wish my boat were still in the water.

Sorry to hear about the delay, please do keep us all informed.

Here is a grog to toast the short period of time until you are able to get underway!
