I was showing a fellow NOAA'a weather map with wind and wave hieghts etc. Another fellow showed me this one

scroll down to waves etc. Animate for future forcasts. Good site

Frank,

I like the passageweather site for shore based, "yes I have Internet Access" planning.

And...they have pretty good Gulf Stream maps, too.

With no means to get the Internet underway, however, that great resource is out for me.  I've become a fan of the NOAA/NWS weather text forecasts and maps broadcast on single side band short wave.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

an alternative to passageweather.com is:

weatheronline.co.uk

got all the charts, including isobaric and wave heights....slow download on a slow internet connection, but that goes for them all
