Did have a very nice anniversary dinner with her last night but she is tending a sick friend in the hospital, which is quite important in itself.

I just want to say a thank you to our troops overseas and away from home for the sacrifices that they have to make so we at home can enjoy the freedom to live life as free people, and to each and everyone on this site have a nice turkey day

Just finished a huge meal here at Indiantown. Scott did it right. Live, quiet music, mini sermon before the meal. HUGE meal...al the trimmings and multi desserts. Free drinks too.. The weather co-operated to make it a great afternoon. A few pics attached.

My sweetie and I are at Port Aransas (sans boat, as this was "business"), so lunch was turkey sandwiches, dinner tonight will be snapper grilled by yours truly.
We walked the docks yesterday, looking at and talking about boats... got invited about a Morgan 45 for the "tour" - it's not much, but it's a start, to get her thinking more about going out for living aboard, and thinking about what boat conveniences she has to have vs. those that could be nice to have plus what she can live without. It turns out she wasn't that thrilled with the Morgan... but liked a nifty Alberg 35. Dialog, plus getting the boat wet will get us there, I hope!

Been a great year since the last one - new friends, adventures, boats... My family is all doing well, and other than CrewDog Molly, we suffered no losses this year. Much to be Thankful for! :)

CharlieJ, I think our route takes us away from there (we have an appointment in San Antonio this afternoon), although if I can work it in, we'll stop by and pet Necessity to reassure her that all is well.
On a really funny note, my sweetheart had a comment last night about the Morgan 45 we went aboard - "can you believe that thing had a microwave and a freezer? what a waste of space." So I'm thinking that little by little, she's coming around to the SailFar concept.
Been watching all sorts of little boats pull up to the offshore platforms through the glass... wondering if they're fishing or running drugs. I did see a Customs & Border boat - big thing with 4 big outboards - stop by some of the platforms late Weds. Our Thanksgiving dinner was baked locel-fresh-caught red snapper - a far cry from the grocery store kind, nice and meaty, very tasty too!

The little boats are most likely fishing. Drugs move up Hwy 77 and/or 35 :o
