Yeah, now we know why Texas has this freezing weather!!

The Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburg Steelers, both in Texas???

No wonder we have ice all over everything. Hasn't been above freezing here for 3 days and we had rain last night. EVERY thing is frozen. Our 15 year old banana grove is gone!!

The packers don't have cheerleaders..nor does Pitt..
I think Steelers may win this one..

I am completely baffled by the fascination with watching millionaire ball throwers on the television.  :P

I wonder how many other SailFar Sailors are not sports fans?
Satisfaction is wanting what you already have.

CharlieJ

As I've said before- I quit following baseball years ago!!

Grin

In fact, I JUST today found out who was playing and when.

That answer your question for me?
;) :D

Right on brother!

I'm not necessarily opposed to sports, but since I avoid watching TV, sports is not that meaningful unless you are actively participating.

Having played American-style football as a youngster, I especially enjoy watching the game when it is played by people who are truly passionate about it, to the point that they excel* at it.

This is true for both college and Pro level, but I enjoy the variability and unpredictability of college sports a good bit more than the cut-n-dried professionalism of NFL-level playing.

I don't really watch either, or much of any sport, on any sort of regular basis.

That said, I was born a Cheesehead (in Milwaukee no less), and raised on a diet of Vince Lombardi and the Glory Days of the Packers, so it is fun as an adult to revisit that youthful zest when I get the chance. Which, given my favorite pro team, is pretty rarely.  ;) :D

So -

GO PACKERS GO!!!

*(It's the same with almost any sport or undertaking, though basketball is extremely boring to me, unless it is the Harlem Globetrotters playing, or hockey, which I never played and thus don't understand... :) )

The only sport I follow is Football, though mostly just the Patriots (I don't have time to keep up with everybody).

I sincerely hope the Packers win this game, though.  I really don't like the Steelers.

Im watching Capt Ron before the game..then drink a bit of rum..

Heading down to "Sundowners" on Green Turtle. Not really a football fan but it sure is fun watching everyone have anxiety attacks throughout the game. May just have a rum or 3   ;D

Watching pro tennis improves my game.  If I can imagine it, after seeing it done, sometimes I can actually do it.  At least it makes me try some crazy stuff.  (And some of the players are pretty hot, too.)  Ball throwers, well, not so much. If only they (the powers that be) weren't so good at locking people out of watching the tennis majors on the internet, when they don't buy-in to paying for cable TV.  C'est la vie.

Maybe the same will be true for sailing.  I'm ready to find out.
