just wondering if Destiny Marina is a real person or a bot. I am looking at trying one more time, to get down south.

Did you  call the phone number?  I spoke with the owner, it is  near where I live....

... once I get done with this road trip, i plan to stop by there... look for a review soon.

Wow, that was fast!  If you could give me an idea as to if  it is place for a low income but not a party all the time guy, That would be great!  I'm exactly rich, ya know..lol. I also have a 6' draft and 29' 11" loa, and 10.2' beam....I don't mind if the bow sticks out of the slip a little.
I'll be await'n your review. thanks
Thanks,
Bill

Based on their "presence" on the forums so far, they seemed like nice folks. Why don't you give them a call to discuss what you're looking for...?

weeeellll,  I called a place a little while ago that turned out to be a scam and I have been getting phone calls about everything from take this survey to what on line collage courses I can take.  the small grammar errors sort of reminded me of the place I called. yeah ,they were as bad as I am. well that and the place I saw the ad posted was on a "how too" site. kinda like the post here was the "gear here" section,  rather then "Routes and Destinations". it just sort of scared me.
so, I thought I'd ask just to be safe, then, when I did Craig said "... once I get done with this road trip, I plan to stop by there... look for a review soon.", so, if Craig is going to give  review, I'll wait and see if I even qualify to meet their standards. if I do fit in, then I'll call, if not I wouldn't need to bother them any.

Sounds like a plan... although the impression I'd gotten was they were really just getting started, so conditions might well change. Wish I had info I could share, but since I don't, I'll just give ya a smilie!

Hey guys, you can rest easy about Destiny Marina.
I live just a few miles from them and went down to check them out a couple of weeks ago.  Steve and Rhonda seem to be nice, down to earth folks who have opened a very spacious and clean (read new) place to keep your boat.  It's several miles away from anything you'd call "town", so transportation could be a problem, but you can always call me and I'll try to help you out.  Their place is located a bit off the well-traveled waterways on the northeast side of Escambia bay and there's not a lot of sailboat traffic there, although I can't imagine why.
As soon as I can get Puff back in the water I plan on keeping her there for a while.  Now understand, Destiny Marina is not a "Fancy" place even though it is gated.  It's just a safe place to keep your boat, with easy access to upper Escambia Bay and not too far from the ICW.  I'll be happy to assist anyone who wants to come check it out and visit for a while.  It would sure be nice to have a few more sailboats in this area.
The big boat always has the right of way!

kewlllll it's not ritzy! so if it's not to far from the ICW, I might have to get on a waiting list before I can get the boat down yonder. lol.

thanks for the smiley!

Well I got some sucky news this morning. the only for me to get to Destiny, is by ocean , around Fla, in to the gulf. the rout I wanted to go was through a canal system but the water is too shallow and the bridges too low.  of course I could get a trailer and truck my boat to it and spend a few months then cruise south from their.

CharlieJ

Them's the breaks of cruising!!!

I had planned to cross there also in a month or so-

Can't apparently, so through the keys we go. Didn't want to- adds a good many miles to my trip back to Texas, but that's how cruising goes- get used to it.

Actually I have a friend in Florida researching it for me right now. As soon as I hear, I'll post something.
