 Hey y'all,
I was hoping that some of y'all could give me some recommendations for 12 volt powered, weather-proof antenna boosters to help me get a better wi-fi signal.
I have looked online and there are so many choices.
I understand that you get what you pay for, but still I need to try to find one that is not hundreds of dollars.
               Thanks,

Hi Keith,

Here' link to discussion of powered antenna I have used aboard for nearly 3 years. It runs off 12 volt system of boat, and I've detected networks 5 miles away.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  -Mark Twain

Good to hear from you, too.

I should have my trailer boat back here in the next couple of weeks, and I hope to do some sailing even though the big boat is on the hard.

Be nice to get some day-cruising (that 55 mph approach helps on the timing) in before the weather turns.

Four of us here in the marina have the Alfa antenna. It has been tested to receive a hot spot 5 miles away. Its water proof USB and under $40.00.

I now have a Wirie and can report that it works well.  The antenna inside is an Alfa and I could report more details if anyone is interested in home brewing their own.
