Hang in there Solace!  Summer is right around the corner and then that winter wt. will fall off.  What else are you going to do right now other than eat and count down until spring??

I am extending last year's resolution which was only half accomplished.  To get my boat to Alaska (that's the done part), and to sail Prince William Sound (that's the extended part).
It's only January, but we have had a real easy winter here so far and that, along with finding this board (a breath of fresh air BTW), has kept me excited about the adventure to come in the not too distant future.

I always thought seafaring women needed to be ruff and tuff(no,not the butch bulldyke habitus)but Annie was all that.She would do up her hair,dothe fingernails thing,put on her make-up,then string up a fishing rod,cut fresh bait,catch whatever,gut it prepair it and cook it all in the same breath.she stayed on board with me for a year.she said that ya gotta be real good friends with who ever is on board to use this toilet..going sailing or for a boatride is one thing....but really living the life style is another....I mean theres no place for high heels on any boat....andya better not be "ascared" of the dark,and ya better not mind getting a little wet....its really a sacrifice to live on a small boat....ya jus'dont have all the homebound amenities......after all its like all I hear from dear old mom..."where do ya eat where do ya sleep...where do ya take a "showah."how can anyone live on a.......b....bbb....bbbbbboat?!My unle Alsie is even "woise"he wuz a cab drivuh in new yawk fa 40 yeahs.he dont tink yuz cudda be livin' on sum gaddam muddafuknbote,fa krysakes

Starcrest- That is funny.   I am not ruff, I can be tuff when needed, but I still like to be a girl.  I can catch fish (love to fish)  actually I owned a power boat prior to the sailboat and went grouper fishing and spear fishing every weekend.  I can clean fish and cook them.  I have learned to change my oil, wire, go up the mast etc.  I really enjoying doing boat chores and repairs too.  New adventure for me and I take pride in my boat.   I have to be girly girl in my job,  ::) but I am most content when I am in my "play clothes."   ;D
I am very lucky, my parents may not understand my passion fully, but they are proud and accepting.   They are not crazy about the Bahamas plan, but they will not give me a difficult time.  They are concerned about safety and I understand that.    (bet they come and crew with me   ;)

My resolution for 2006 is to:

Find a sailboat!

Buy it!

And move aboard!  Simplify life and head south!

actually I have found in the past that I have been running a shelter for homeless women....pretty much many of the women that have stayed with me have done so pretty much because they had nowhere else to go.And me being the nice guy that I am....well sure they can stay as long as they remember who they are living with.the liveaboard life syle gets in the blood stream they like it....but as soon as they forget who the are living with...(it has happened more than once..)thats when I bring them back to the same dumpster they came from

I doubt it!  ;D BUT I NEVER include self-improvement in my resolutions. For 2006, I resolved to sail more, smile more, dance more with good-looking men, drink more GOOD wine and worry less. I guess you COULD call that self-improvement???? The rest will have to take care of itself!!
