It's amazing what can be done with a big stick, some line and a few blocks.  I'm just hoping you had a cart to get it from there to where ever.

One thing I would be worried about would be my goose neck not being able to stand the strain.  In any event, it is good to see someone doing this.  I'll likely have to do the same one of these years to remove my 1963 inboard from my boat.

I lifted out and replaced a 500 pound Albin AD-2 diesel and transmission (twice) in my Cheoylee 31 with my boom, last year. However; I used a chain hoist on the end of the boom. That allowed me to handle the motor by myself, and I had an easy time of moving the motor out of the boat.

One thing I did first, was to secure lines from the mast to adjacent docks, to keep the boat from heeling over when the motor was swung over to the dock.
