lowering floor to gain headroom

Has anyone done this? Just one more inch of headroom would allow Madeline to stand tall in the cabin of our Ariel.
I can't see/feel any mechanical fastenings or fiberglass tabbing so i presume it's held in place with some kind of goopuckie.  I figure if I can pull it out I can cut it down, still keep enough floor space and have it sit lower in the hull.

Normally the problem I've run into is decrease the width of the walk area.  If you have enough width in the cabin sole, I think you'd be good to go.

I once discussed this subject with Paul Gartside.  I sent him a reworked interior of one of his plans to see if it would work.  As I recall, he wasn't enthused, but said it should work.

In the treasure chest that is the Pearson Ariel site, I believe that there is a boat that had this done.
Yes, the sole is tabbed in to the hull with fiberglass.

The only consideration I would have is that the sole will become smaller very quickly as you lower it...  The turn seems to be such that it would, but it may be worth it for you.

Did that on Tehani. Narrowed the sole a bit, but still was plenty wide.
