Autohelm Raymarine SPX-5

Greetings

I have a question on a SPX-5. It was installed on a 36 ft Ketch, doing an ocean crossing. It worked fine for 1 week then stopped. I am just seeking general information. Any guesses on if it was the installation or a mechanical issue?

What does the failure look like?

No drive?  No display?  Won't hold course?

I have a fair amount of experience troubleshooting no drive' and not holding course....

I am not fully sure, but believe the unit has burned out, at least is in operable.

my main concern really is if the installation is responsible for the fail, after it was installed and working or would it be another issue.
