OK....this 23 is by NO means a big boat. But I'm sitting here, its cold... it's blowing like crazy, wind and rain in forecast for several days....and I'm dreading hauling out in 2 days!!
I have a friend coming to help....but, as shallow a draft as it is, combined with the wind...ya gotta know one of us is going to get wet loading her.... and it won't be him. Then....the mast isn't tall, but it has double lowers to come off 1st, it takes 2, better with 3....to lower it. While by no means too difficult...it will be a hectic and cold few hours job.
Don't know why....but I just thought of how totally simple and easy my lil Suncat would be right now!! No "dread"...no concerns...no friends needed to help....and no backing the truck in so the rear tires are in the water. I could do it all....alone, in just a few minutes. No fuss.
I know there is NO perfect boat and all are compromises. I would not have wanted the Suncat for this trip....
But the point of this post is GEEZ.....ya gotta love lil boats and how darn easy they are to rig, launch, sail and retreave later. Not to mention how easy to both trailer and store till next time.

Now.....can a pilot house be put on a Suncat...........???    :)
God made small boats for younger boys and older men
